BR and Timebomb, in association with Guidon Records and Felecia Cruz, present an International Music Festival in Forest Park, Queens on July 11, 2009 from 2-8pm. It will be at the George Seuffert Bandshell near Woodhaven Boulevard and Forest Park Drive. We have secured a full diverse selection of independent musicians, including Illard Scott, L'una Soul, Ganessa James and Christina Lee. The international theme is derived from the cultural backgrounds of the artists (Korea, The Philippines, Ivory Coast, Mexico, Puerto Rico, St. Vincent, Japan, Senegal, etc.) and the music (reggae, hip-hop, gospel, Latin rock, etc.). Our goal is to give Brooklyn & Queens the best outdoor independent artist showcase they have ever experienced. Forest Park, 538 acres of open space, trees and fields, is a jewel of a park in Queens, New York, bordering the neighborhoods of Richmond Hill, Kew Gardens, Forest Hills, Glendale, and Woodhaven. Designed by Frederick Olmsted in the 1890s, Forest Park is the third largest park in Queens. As Queens is the most culturally and ethnically diverse of the 5 boroughs, it only makes sense to hold an event like this one here.
